Why Storytelling?

As we build this new theatre company here in The Valley, we wanted to launch a series that speaks to the fundamentals of theatre itself: joining together in community (and having a lot of fun doing it) and telling important stories (around a fire, no less)!

We will be featuring local writers and performers as we come together under the evening sky at a private hacienda. 

There will be sips and sweets and stories that will stick with you forever.

Am I the right fit for your show?

Are you a human person above the age of 21? Then this is the right fit for you!

 

How much should my story stay on topic?

Please let our themes inspire you, but if that inspiration feels a little more metaphorical than literal, that’s OK!

 

How long should my story be?

We want to allow more people to have the opportunity to share, so please keep your story to five minutes, when spoken aloud.

What do I submit?

Ideally, we would like to get a look at the story that you were planning to present. If it is still a work-in-progress, we are open to taking pitches. Please note, being able to get a full sense of how you write and what you are presenting is likely going to be much more interesting to read and easy to select!

 

Any additional perks?

We will be providing professional photos from the event. While it is a very small token of our appreciation and we do expect that the experience itself will be extremely rewarding!

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Submit a memorable story (or a pitch) to welcometojubileetheatre@gmail.com by August 10. Most importantly, you must be available for our performance date on September 21. Our producer will be in touch about scheduling a quick zoom rehearsal beforehand. We would love for you to invite your friends and family, we love building community with you!
